What we measure
We read one page of your website, look for your site's robots.txt file and sitemap, and measure what visitors see and what search engines are told. Each line in your result shows where it came from and the date we read it.
- Whether the page loads over a secure https connection, and whether its security certificate is valid.
- How long the main content takes to show on a phone, from Google PageSpeed Insights, with Google's own report linked.
- Whether the page is set up to fit a phone screen.
- Whether a visitor can reach you from the page: a phone or email link, a contact or quote link, or a contact form.
- Whether the page offers online booking or a chat, among the tools we recognize.
- The review count and rating your page shows, if it shows them.
- The platform and tools the page is built on.
- Whether the page asks Google not to list it.
- Whether your robots.txt file keeps Google's crawler away from your home page.
- The page title and main heading, and whether the title is only a general word such as Home.
- Whether the page's structured data names a type of local business.
- Whether we found a sitemap for your site.
- Whether the page shows a Google Map in an embedded frame.
What happens next
Within one business day, we email you what we found on your page.
When you want more than the check, we write your plan, name the first phase and fix the price in a quote before any work starts.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. You pay nothing for the check or your result.
Do you need a login to my website?
No. We read the page the way any visitor sees it, so all we need is its address and your email.
Which page do you read?
The one at the address you send, usually your home page.
How do I know the result is right?
You can check it yourself: every line names its source, and the phone load time links to Google's own report.
What do you do with my details?
We use them to run your check and send your result. They reach us by email, and the site itself keeps no copy. A few days after we send your result, we email you once to ask if you have questions. We do not add you to a newsletter. How we handle your details
